
The morning sun was deceptively bright when I stepped onto my college campus. The familiar chatter of students, the rustle of papers, the distant ring of a bell, it all should have grounded me. Instead, it felt oddly distant, as if I were walking through a place I no longer belonged to.
I walked into the administrative block, my footsteps echoing softly on the polished floor. The dean's office door was slightly ajar, and I knocked gently before entering.
